Hi and welcome to our first ever blog. It was wonderful to be given the opportunity to attend the fishing workshop at Gunnamatta Bay. Thank you to the  Recreational Fisheries Trust who invited the students.

If you were one of the lucky fifteen who were selected to attend please write a comment – simply click the “comment” button above. I would love to hear what you learnt on the day and what activity you particularly enjoyed. Once people start commenting I will publish some photos from the day.

Looking forward to your comments.

Be sure to watch Sydney Weekender on Channel 7 on Saturday July 5th at 5.30pm.

I am Michael from Cronulla South Public School and I went to Gunnamatta Park . I had a lot of fun learning how to use the fishing rod and how to tie a ‘ Bloodknot ‘ . I am so happy to have gone to the fishing programme with my friends , I am also happy that i caught two Red Snapper on that day.

I am Trent and I was really excited that I was one of the 15 that got chosen to go on the fishing excusion. We had a great day and I caught two bream off the pier at Gunamatta. The best part of the day was learning the ‘bloodknot’. We learnt lots of things about fishing and we get to be on TV!!

I was one of the lucky ones to get a day off school and go fishing. I had a lot of fun but it is not my talent .I was called the biggest bait waster by the New South Wales fisheries crew. Altogether i had a great day and got heaps of cool stuff and mummy is taking me fishing in the holidays .Maybe I will get better.

i was one of the the lucky 15 people to be involed in the fishing day. it was a fantastic day and we learnt about tying knots, casting and many other things. at the end we got a bag full of fishing things. thankyou to mrs askew for taking us

hi i was one of the lucky 15 to go from our school.
The funnniest part was when we were working with you and the crew.
THANKS FOR ALL OF IT!

I had a great day and enjoyed fishing. I learnt a lot about fish, casting and rigging. Thanks for selecting me.
PS I enjoyed seeing myself and my friends on TV

I felt lucky and honoured to be selected to go fishing with some other kids from my school.
I thought fishing was a great sport and I really enjoyed the day. I caught the first fish of the day, which was also my first ever fish, so that made is extra special.
I also liked seeing us on tv.
